SmartCurrents program benefits MI and customers

DTE Energy is launching SmartCurrentsSM, a new initiative that involves the development of a high-tech electrical infrastructure in preparation for the addition of SmartHome technology.

SmartCurrents technology:

  • Involves the installation of high-tech electrical circuits and meters which use radio networks to wirelessly exchange information between customers and DTE Energy.
  • Enables the launch of a SmartHome program that will incorporate new technologies and products
such as “smart” appliances, thermostats and control units so customer can monitor their energy usage. SmartHome also will include new customer pricing products and a Web portal for energy analysis.
With timely energy information, customers can match their usage with costs and create their own
    energy budget.

Watch for SmartCurrents work to begin in Bloomfield Township soon!
